Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon ground garlic
- 2 tablespoons sukhi methi
- 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of chapli kebab masala
For the pan:
- 2 small onions
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon ground zeera
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
- 2 tablespoons ground ginger
- 2 tablespoons ground garlic
- 4 green peppers
- 3 small onions
- 4 tablespoon crushed tomato (from can)
9 small onions (needed in total for this recipe) |
Note: you can use other coloured peppers as well, example instead of using 4 green peppers, you can use 1 red, 1 yellow, 1 orange, and 1 green pepper.
Directions:
Peel and chop 4 of the onions and squeeze out all the water out of them. Put them in a big bowl with the meat, cilantro, breadcrumbs, 1 tablespoon ground garlic, sukhi methi, and chapli kebab masala.
Mix all these things together with hands.

Take a wooden spatula, and use its handle to make the kebabs. Make the kebabs as shown in the picture.
This recipe makes 42 kebabs |
Chop 2 onions (like before), and put in a large deep pan. Add in 1/3 cup oil and turn on the heat on medium.
When the onions start to become translucent, then add in the remaining 3 tablespoons of ground garlic into the pan.
When it starts to simmer and change colour (approximately 1 minute later), start adding in the kebabs.
As the kebabs start changing colour, move them to one side of the pan, and add in more of the kebabs to the empty side of the pan.
As the kebabs are cooking and the water starts drying (that came out from the kebabs), cut the green peppers and the 3 remaining onions (that weren't chopped), into bite sized pieces.
Once the kebabs start to look cooked...
...add in the red chili powder, turmeric powder, ground zeera/cumin, salt, ground clove, and ground ginger into the pan. Carefully, mix everything in the pan, so the kebabs won't break/crumble apart.
