- 2-3 tomatoes
OR 2 tablespoons of crushed tomatoes
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin powder
- 1/5 teaspoon clove powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 teaspoon sea salt
Directions:
Chop the cabbage.
Cut the whole chicken into pieces, as seen in picture.
Slice the onion, and put in a medium sized pot with the oil and cook on medium-high heat. A few minutes later, add in the ground garlic, and mix.
Take off the lid, and let it cook until all the water is gone
cook this until all water is gone and only oil remains |
When all the water has dried, add in the spices and ground ginger, and mix 2-3 times.
After a minute add in the tomatoes, and mix.
After 2 minutes, add in half of the chopped chabbage and mix. Then add in the rest and mix again.
Put the lid on the pot, and let it cook for 20 minutes on low-medium heat.
After 20 minutes, take off the lid, and turn the heat on medium-heat to get rid of excess water from the cabbage. Once you see only oil at the bottom of the pot, this is when you turn off the heat.
Your delicious chicken with cabbage dish is ready to serve! Eat with roti, naan, boiled rice, or simply on its own.
